The Artisan Olive Oil Company is delighted to announce another 5 Great Taste Stars with Oro Bailen olive oils from Andalusia for 2023.
Oro Bailen Arbequina extra virgin olive oil received 2 Great Taste Stars. The judges added"A beautiful golden oil with a buttery, grassiness on the nose. This oil is well balanced in pepperiness and fruitiness, and mild enough to have many uses. A really lovely olive oil."
Oro Bailen Hojiblanca extra virgin olive oil also received 2 Great Taste Stars. Here are some of the judges comments: "A verdant green shade matches a wonderfully fresh, zesty, grassy aroma. The creaminess on the palate permits delightful, gentle fruitiness to come through, and the bitterness too is appealingly gentle, the pepper firm but wonderfully in balance. A gorgeous, versatile oil with wonderful freshness and a near-perfect arc of taste and flavour. Warm, but gentle persistence of fruit as of spice rounds off a delightful product."
Oro Bailen organic picual extra virgin olive oil was awarded with 1 Great Taste Star. The panel from the Guild of Fine Foods commented "Notably fresh and characterful. A big mouthful of flavour, with a long grassy, peppery aftertaste. Its nutty notes transform into the perfect degree of bitterness. The judges loved this oil and could see it working across numerous recipes and as a final finishing flourish for both cold and hot dishes."
